Getting started
Signing in and your account
The sign-in screen, signing in with an email address or with GitHub, and what Account shows.
A Billion Agents is in private beta, and accounts are given by invitation. Once you have one, you sign in on the sign-in screen.
The sign-in screen

You can sign in in either of two ways.
With your email address and password. Enter them under Email and Password, and click Continue. The button says “Signing in…” while it checks them, then the app opens on the conversation list. If something is wrong, a message under the fields says what:
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Incorrect email or password. | The address or the password does not match an account. The address stays filled in so you can try the password again. |
| Too many sign-in attempts. Wait a few minutes, then try again. | After ten wrong passwords in a row, the account is locked for fifteen minutes. |
| Passwords are 8 to 256 characters. | The password is too short or too long to be one. |
With GitHub. Continue with GitHub takes you to GitHub to sign in there, and brings you back signed in. It works for a GitHub account that has been given access to the beta, or that has been linked to your account. Signing in with GitHub also connects that GitHub account, so your agents can work on GitHub through it (see Connecting GitHub). If the sign-in does not finish, a message under the button says why, such as “This GitHub account has not been given access yet.” or “GitHub sign-in was cancelled.”
Account
Account, at the bottom of the left pane, opens your account. It shows your name and email address, and Sign out at the top right, which signs you out of this browser.
Below them are two screens of their own:
- Computer environment: environment variables for your agents’ computers. See Computer environment.
- GitHub accounts: the GitHub accounts your agents act through. See Connecting GitHub.
Then come your plan and your agent time:
- Plan names your plan. Pricing has not been decided, and the plan shown during the private beta is a placeholder.
- This month shows how much time your agents have worked this month, under the line “You pay for agent time worked, per second. Idle agents cost nothing.”
- By agent lists each agent with its time this month, most first.
- By day shows the month’s agent time as a bar for each day. Point at a bar to see the day and its time.
